Taylor Hobson & Cooke 16" F4.5 Series II Soft Focus

Beautiful Cooke Variable Soft Focus Lens with a focal length of 16" and maximum aperture of F4.5. This was considered a newer version of Soft Focus Lens from Cooke when it was first sold in approx. 1933.

This Cooke Portrait Lens is a bit more unusual as it has benefited from some modern enhancements courtesy of Burke and James. Burke and James gave the glass modern COATINGs and went so far as to paint the barrel with a black finish.

This is a stunning Soft Focus Lens. The glass can use a light cleaning as there's a few spots to the coating and some light dust. The barrel's variable diffusion movement is smooth to adjust and the aperture blades create a crisp circular opening. There is also a small dent to the rear of the barrel, but this has not affect the optical or mechanical perfornce of the lens!
